Sandbags and sand are free to City of El Cajon residents only. Limit of 10 bags with sand per residence. While supplies last. You are responsible for filling your own bags.

City of La Mesa

Prior to an anticipated rain event, on a first come-first serve basis, Public Works will have empty sandbags and sand available for residents of the incorporated area of the City of La Mesa with valid La Mesa ID. Limit of 10 bags with sand per residence. The sandbags are available at the Public Works Yard in the front office during normal business hours. Once a resident retrieves the bags, sand is available for self-service in the shed west of the fuel pumps outside the fence. Shovels may be available, but please plan to bring your own.

Available Monday through Thursday 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and alternate Fridays from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Sandbags are free to Lemon Grove residents only. You must have a valid ID that shows your Lemon Grove address. Limit of 10 bags with sand per residence. You must bring your own shovel.
